Filter technology specialists meet in Amberg
Specialists from Herding Filtertechnik meet every three years at an international conference for an intensive exchange of experience
This year's conference took place on 10th and 11th May 2011 at the ACC Amberg (Amberger CongressCentrum). According to lengthy tradition, delegates were invited by Dr.-Ing. Urs Herding, the managing director (CEO) of Herding GmbH Filtertechnik, based in Amberg since 1977, and Dipl.-Ing. Walter Herding, the company's founder. The Herding® name has stood for reliability, quality and outstanding technological performance in the fields of filter media, dust extraction and filtration systems for industry for more than 30 years.
A "one-stop-shop", great flexibility in production and a larger proportion of production in-house ensure that it is possible to meet the high quality demands placed on the company's products by Herding customers all around the world.
Herding - a worldwide company
Herding GmbH Filtertechnik has developed into a worldwide complete system supplier for industry. The first step towards the company's internationalisation was the signature of a license agreement in 1985 by Eurotec/Nittetsu Mining in Japan. Since then, Herding has established eight independent overseas companies and cooperative relationships in nine other countries.
Intensive cooperation and an exchange of experience at a high level are the essential requirements for a well-functioning and successful partner network. Continuity and consistency in cooperation with partners has an incredibly positive effect on the success of the company.
For example, the core component turnover generated by the partner network contributes around 12 %, plus our own overseas subsidiaries, which naturally earn a much greater value from the filter equipment and entire installations sold.
Participants in the international partner network
The international conference in Amberg was attended by representatives of all Herding's worldwide partners, who took as many new ideas home with them as possible after an intensive exchange of experience, enabling them to build sales of Herding products. This partner network shows that Herding GmbH Filtertechnik is doing well internationally and can also offer international service to customers. The partners also secure access to new markets. For example, the Herding partner in Thailand was the first to get involved in the field of chewing gum, thus providing the basis for the current success of Wrigleys and Cadbury.
The attendees, some of whom had been coming to Amberg for decades, also included the license holder from Japan, cooperation partners from Argentina, China, Italy, Mexico, Sweden, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey and representatives of Herding companies from France, Switzerland and the USA.
Interesting topics for 2011
Herding employees presented interesting technical innovations and changes and there was a lively exchange of project experiences with short presentations on particularly challenging projects. The overall Herding strategy, advertising measures and corporate identity were also discussed.
Specific themes of the 2011 conference included up to date information from the pharmaceutical industry, dry filtration of wet paint, manufacture of batteries, news from the food industry and hot galvanising of steel / sheet metal parts.
Varied fringe programme
An interesting fringe programme was also offered to enable Herding partners to get to know each other and to strengthen their relationships and business contacts. At the end of the first day of the conference, guests were able to take a boat cruise on the Vils and then visit the provincial library in Amberg. The day was concluded with dinner for all the delegates at the Club Habana. A visit to the Lechuza company in Dietenhofen was held on the second day of the conference. This Herding customer manufactures high quality planters in fashionable designs. The aim was to visit the Herding installation there, which enables the customer to dry-separate the wet paint overspray. The day was topped off with a visit to the "Historische Maybach Fahrzeuge" car museum in Neumarkt. The evening's festivities at the Hotel Sammüller, overlooking Neumarkt, was the focal point of the successful conference.
We are sure that all our guests will be taking home great memories of the wonderful days they spent in Amberg, as well as lots of interesting information and experiences. We look forward to the next international conference in 2014 and the further worldwide success that Herding will have achieved by then.
